Where To Stay
If you’re planning on coming to our wedding and don’t live in the area, you’ll probably want to spend Saturday night at a local motel or hotel. There is very little in the way of highfalutin hotels in central Pennsylvania, so if you’re into that kind of thing consider The Inn at Turkey Hill or the more out-of-the-way Inn at New Berlin. Otherwise, we have two recommendations for close, cheap accommodations:
- Econolodge in Bloomsburg, PA. This is the preferred hotel, as there is a block of rooms reserved for our guests. Mention the Bardo-Schuster wedding for a discounted rate. You must make your reservation by May 27, however, as the unclaimed rooms will be released after that date. Only about 30 minutes from Unityville.
- Hampton Inn in Bloomsburg, PA. This hotel is right off I-80 and about 30 minutes from where we’re getting married.
You’re also free to ignore all of this information and take a chance on something a little bit closer, but we don’t know anything about those: you’re on your own.

Gift Registries
The planning continues. We still have lots to do (like making sure invitations are ready for our April 15 deadline, buying wedding bands, and planning the actual ceremony). We think we’ll be ready in time.
Mom is throwing us a shower (though I prefer the term ‘bath’) in the middle of April (invitations also forthcoming), and I’m told that it is customary to give gifts at both the wedding and the shower. If I had any idea that marriage was so lucrative, I may have pushed for a date earlier than June.
Amanda and I have registered at a few stores; most of the stuff is domestic-type things like pots and pans and silverware (which is expected). Some is not. We also love gift certificates. Enjoy.
